Step 1: Water Supply Connection

Connect the nozzle set to the water supply system. Ensure the water source is clean, clear, and free of impurities, then fully open the water supply.

Step 2: Start Spraying and Adjust Flow

Open the valve to begin spraying. Adjust the flow meter valve to control and stabilize the water flow according to the required test level.

Step 3: Set Standard Flow Rate

Configure the water flow rate based on the test grade and replace the corresponding nozzle and flow meter when switching between test levels:

  • IPX5 Test: Water flow rate 12.5 L/min ± 5%.
  • IPX6 Test: Water flow rate 100 L/min ± 5%.

Ensure that the appropriate nozzle and flow meter are used for each protection level to maintain IEC 60529 compliance.

Step 4: Perform the Water Jet Test

Direct the nozzle toward the test sample and spray water from all practical directions around the enclosure.

  • Test Duration: ≥ 1 minute per square meter of enclosure surface area (excluding mounting surfaces), minimum 3 minutes.
  • Nozzle Distance to Enclosure: 2.5–3 meters.
