Test Standards
The tester supports CTI and PTI testing based on IEC 60112.
For projects specifying UL 746A, ASTM D3638 or GB/T 4207, please provide the required method and edition. BONAD will review the test conditions and confirm the suitable configuration before order placement.

CTI testing supports material development, selection and comparison. PTI testing is used for acceptance testing and quality control of materials and manufactured parts. Specimens must be prepared according to the selected test method.

- Adjustable electrical settings: A voltage range selector, fine-adjustment control and current adjustment allow operators to set and check the test conditions.
- Controlled electrolyte delivery: The drop count and interval can be preset, while the dispensing arrangement allows the drip height and position to be adjusted.
- Flexible specimen positioning: The adjustable platform and electrode assembly help align the specimen surface, electrode contact points and drip location.

Test Principle
The tracking index tester applies AC voltage between two platinum electrodes while electrolyte drops fall onto the specimen. Leakage current and surface discharges can form conductive tracks. The circuit is interrupted when the current-trip condition is reached.
CTI is determined through tests at different voltages, while PTI verifies performance at a specified voltage. Both follow the applicable standard’s test and acceptance requirements.
