Design Principle:

The chamber utilizes a sophisticated forced air circulation system. A powerful circulating motor drives air through high-capacity electric heaters. This heated air is then efficiently distributed throughout the chamber via a specially designed air duct, ensuring exceptional temperature uniformity and rapid recovery after disturbances (e.g., door opening). The strategic placement of air inlets and outlets guarantees smooth airflow and rapid ventilation, critically preventing the dangerous accumulation of flammable gases released during battery testing.

Testing Procedures:

  1. Battery Thermal Abuse Test (e.g., per IEC 62133):
    • Place the fully charged sample (cell/module) in the chamber.
    • Raise the chamber temperature to (130 ± 2)°C at an average rate of (5 ± 2)°C/min.
    • Maintain this temperature for 30 minutes.
    • Remove the sample and allow it to cool to room temperature.
    • Pass Criteria: The sample must not explode or catch fire.
  2. Moulded Case Stress Test:
    • Place the fully charged battery/module (with moulded case) in the chamber.
    • Stabilize the chamber at an ambient temperature of (70 ± 2)°C.
    • Maintain this temperature for 7 hours.
    • Remove the sample and allow it to cool to room temperature.
    • Pass Criteria: The moulded case must show no physical distortion resulting in exposure of internal cells or protective components.
